Old Fashioned Wedding Gowns

According to an old proverb-

"As your wedding-ring wears, Your cares will wear away."

Another version says:

"You'll live out your cares."

It is regarded as unlucky by very many when the wedding-ring comes off the finger, whether from accident or forgetfulness on the part of the newly-married wife. It is certain, however, that no importance is to be attached to such a piece of superstition; as, in such a case, there would be but very few happy marriages, considering how about three-fourths, perhaps, of the wedding-rings sooner or later come off the fingers of those who wear them.
